What ActiveLeading provides
ActiveLeading workshops combine four components to create valuable learning opportunities, helping leaders to build their leadership skills and reach their potential.
Intelligent individuals--who are eager to develop and who are willing to share their experiences --profoundly enhance ActiveLeading programs, workshops, and retreats. And so we carefully review each application, as we strive to bring together a group of leaders that will add value to each other's learning.
"We discover ourselves through others." Carl Jung

"In order to attract success, you need to welcome it whenever you see it." Eckhart Tolle
"Sometimes, people learn more from the learnING person than they do form the learnED person." ~William Hill
"The only true voyage of discovery, the only fountain of Eternal Youth, would be not to visit strange lands but to possess other eyes, to behold the universe through the eyes of another, of a hundred others, to behold the hundred universes that each of them beholds, that each of them is." ~Marcel Proust
Because location and setting influence group dynamics, we carefully select where we hold our workshops and corporate retreats, many of which occur in exotic locations that take leaders way out of the office, giving them the time to reflect on and enhance their leadership abilities.
At ActiveLeading, we seek out activities that engage leaders' minds and bodies, so that they break out of what is comfortable and familiar, experience the benefits that exercise has on our brains, and tap into a state of flow, in which everything we do, including learning, we do better.
Because leaders must adapt to change, the activities that we choose (surf, snow, mountain, and power sports) offer many parallels to leadership prinicples.
"Exercise unleashes a cascade of neurochemicals and growth factors that physically bolster the brain's infrustructure." ~Sparklife.org
"Flow naturally catapults you to a level you're not naturally in."
~Ned Hallowell, Psychiatrist, Harvard Medical School
Our facilitators have worked with dozens of groups in corporate and higher-education settings, and through those experiences, we have developed a needs-based approach to our facilitation. We are interested in and responsive to the needs of the group and the individuals, as we lead discussions, introduce leadership models, and cultivate relationships.
"Tell me and I'll listen. Show me and I'll watch. Involve me and I'll learn." ~Teton Lakota Native Americans
"You cannot teach people anything. You can only help them discover it within themselves. ~Galileo
"If the teacher is indeed wise, he does not bid you to enter the house of his wisdom but, rather, leads you to the threshold of your own." ~Khalil Gibran
